Leon, former special forces officer, broken by alcoholism and a troubled past, is hired by a powerful gangster to serve as bodyguard for his rebellious 16-year-old daughter, Sara. As Leon struggles to rebuild his life and maintain professionalism, the lines between duty and desire begin to blur. Tensions rise when Sara develops feelings for him, forcing Leon to navigate a dangerous path between his conscience, her affections, and the ever-present threat of her father’s wrath.
The role of Sara marked the screen debut of actress Agnieszka Włodarczyk, who was 16 at the time—just like her character. Her performance received strong praise and launched a successful career in Polish cinema and television.
The film ends with the song I’m Your Man by Leonard Cohen, covered by Bogusław Linda (who plays Leon). The track adds a deeply emotional layer to the film’s closing moments and has become closely associated with the film’s tone.
